Consider the wisdom of Ruth Chou Simons [she/her] | @ruthchousimons
“Our ceaseless striving gets us nowhere.
God assigns the impossible so that His purposes, His way, can be on display.
The parting of the Red Sea, Abraham and Sarah, Moses and Pharoah, a virgin birth, the death and resurrection of the Savior…
…it’s always been God’s story of divine power, extravagant love, and merciful rescue.
It was never about any of their abilities, just like it’s not about yours or mine.
Whatever feels impossible is meant to draw us to fall upon His unchanging character; it’s meant to free us…to trust Him to hold all things together.
“Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.” (Jeremiah 32:17)
Nothing is too hard for you, God. Still our striving and replace it with the wonder of your great power. Amen.
TELL ME: Where do you find yourself striving, even now? (Hint: look at where you’re anxiously working to attain for yourself what is meant for God to provide?”
