Consider this prayer and wisdom from Strahan Coleman | @commoners_communion
“[God], teach me the art of speechless prayer…
When my soul doesn’t have language – when it’s numb, thoughtless, exhausted or prodigal – I throw myself into speechless communion with the tender God.
The God who knows my inability to bring worthy conversation to the table every time.
The One who knows my tendency to focus elsewhere on lesser things, yet desires my communion nonetheless.
When words are lost because my mind is, and blankness resides, I can sit with God, without anxiety, knowing that [God] is not surprised – not now, or ever – by my lack.
[God] comes to the table whatever my condition, longing for me to return the favour with humility and hope.
I’m constantly re-learning the art of showing up.”
